VILLAGE ART CLUB, INC. 2007 WORKSHOPS

PAINTING IN ACRYLICS

September 27, 28, and 29, 2007 –9:30am –4:00pm

Instructor – Charles Harrington

This workshop will focus on the use of acrylics to gain the technical advantages offered by this versatile medium while retaining the aesthetic of traditional media such as watercolor and oils. The acrylic techniques presented can result in a finished painting that the causal observer can't distinguish from watercolor; or they can result in a happy combination of transparent, translucent, and opaque applications possible only with acrylics.

Demonstrations will focus on techniques and issues presented in Charles' North Light book and teaching video (DVD), Acrylics: The Watercolor Alternative, which was North Light Book Club's selection of the month in September 2005. The fee for the three-day workshop is $180 and is due at the time of registration.  The Studio is located behind the Wishing Spring Gallery in Bella Vista at Highway 71 and 40.  Charles’ artwork can be found at http://charlesharrington.com
